About us

Ruxley Church is an Anglican-Methodist ecumenical partnership, and as we worship God together we continually discover that life in him through our Lord Jesus Christ brings peace, hope and a sense of purpose in all we do.

We hope when you have browsed our website you will find something that interests you and will want to come and meet us in person. If that's the case we look forward to meeting you at one of our regular Sunday services or perhaps you'd like to join us for coffee or tea and cake on a Thursday morning. We are a friendly lot and don't bite!

However, if you have questions about faith, or are finding life a struggle and would like to talk with someone, please don't be afraid to contact one of our Ministry Team. We don't claim to have all the answers, but we're very willing to listen and help you explore further.

Church Anniversary (26th January)

church building with baloons and streamersWe're celebrating a very special Sunday at Ruxley on Sunday 26th January - our 23rd Church Anniversary! We're even more delighted that our old friend Revd Canon Stuart Thomas will be travelling up from his current base near Sherborne to lead our service. Stuart was incumbent here for nearly 20 years from 1994, overseeing the transition from the old St Francis building, the instigation of our LEP and our wonderful present building. As well as being an author and a very gifted pianist, we estimate that he officiated at 200 baptisms, 60 weddings, 400funerals and 700 school assemblies, as well as giving 2000 sermons. We're very much looking forward to having him with us.

Make sure you don't miss it! We'll be following the service with a bring-and-share lunch, so please bring a contribution for us all to share. There will be a sign-up sheet on the notice board so we don't all bring the same things.

Anglican Vacancy

We are currently in Anglican vacancy, awaiting the appointment of a House-for-Duty Anglican Priest.
